In 2023, Switzerland conducted important negotiations in the field of migration with countries such as Iraq, Egypt, India and the US.
A migration agreement was signed with Guinea-Bissau.
Migration agreements regulate numerous details on migration cooperation, including the return of asylum seekers whose application has been rejected in Switzerland.
Switzerland now has return instruments in place with 61 countries.

The migration framework credit is part of Switzerland's second contribution to selected EU member states. It is used to finance programmes and projects in the areas of asylum procedure, infrastructure, voluntary return and reintegration aimed at preventing secondary migration.
